在线电子游戏网赌 is committed to sustainability by integrating sustainability planning in institutional planning and practices, developing dynamic curriculum and continuing education programs.

Institutional Commitment is demonstrated through the College's 2015-2019 Strategic Plan. The plan focuses on several areas of sustainability:

  • Incorporating sustainability across the curriculum (degree and non-degree)
  • Providing access to transportation assistance through ride-share, bike access, and public transportation options
  • Increasing flexible course offerings and alternative formats
  • Building sustainable infrastructure to maximize renewable energy credits
  • Reducing paper and employee time through the implementation of electronic forms and signatures
  • Expanding sustainability practices at all campuses
  • Reducing energy costs at all campuses and sites through people and systems

Institutional Commitment is also demonstrated through 在线电子游戏网赌's participation in the American College and University President's Climate Commitment (ACUPCC). The college is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions to combat the threat of catastrophic climate disruption.

在线电子游戏网赌 has completed the emissions inventory at http://rs.acupcc.org/ghg/2012/. The emissions mitigation plan will be complete by May 2013.

The College has also shown Institutional Commitment by its participation in STARS®, the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System™. STARS® is a transparent, self-reporting framework for colleges and universities to measure their sustainability performance. STARS® was developed by American Association for Sustainability in Higher Education, an acknowledged leader that advances sustainability by providing invaluable resources. It has broad participation from diverse representatives of the higher education community. 在线电子游戏网赌 completed the STARS inventory in August 2011 and earned a Silver designation See the College's STARS Report.

Transportation

在线电子游戏网赌 is committed to reducing the carbon emissions generated by our buildings, faculty, staff and students. As a commuter college we have a lot of emissions to reduce from our driving requirements. To this end 在线电子游戏网赌 is promoting the use of ride share, carpooling, and public transportation.

S4S Club

The S4S Club, Students for Sustainability Club, formed in 2011. The purpose of the club is to provide fellowship and learning opportunities for members and increase sustainability awareness on our campuses and community.

Sustainability Committee

The Purpose of the Sustainability Committee

The Sustainability Council determines and promotes the most efficient, cost effective and environmentally friendly methods of conserving resources. The Council also encourages sustainable college policies, procedures and planning and builds sustainability awareness among 在线电子游戏网赌 faculty, staff, and students.

The Goals of the Sustainability Committee

  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  • Reduce natural resource consumption (energy, fuel, paper, water)
  • Reduce air, water, and soil pollution
  • Protect and promote environmental health for 在线电子游戏网赌 employees and students
  • Promote environmental awareness and education among faculty, staff and student body
  • Support faculty to integrate sustainable topics into instructional programs
  • Recommend improvements in organizational and physical infrastructure to support sustainability
  • Connect with those outside the college by communicating internal sustainability efforts to external community

The Sustainability Subcommittees include Transportation, Curriculum, Facilities, Outreach/Inreach, and Policies & Procedures

Green Office (GO!) Challenge

Everyone is invited to participate in making 在线电子游戏网赌 a more sustainable institution.

在线电子游戏网赌's Sustainability Committee has teamed up with the () to create the Green Office GO! Challenge. The GO! Challenge goal is to increase efficiency, comfort and health in our college workplaces. Participants complete an assessment identifying actions where energy savings, purchases and daily activities can enhance the workplace.

In 2013 the 在线电子游戏网赌 Sustainability Committee kicked of the GO! Green Office Challenge. Ten teams are participating to green their office space.

Faculty Resources

Faculty resources are located on the Intranet. After logging in select "Helpful Files By Department" on the left, then under the listing of departments select "instruction", and finally select "Sustainability Resource Listing".
